SILVERTONE/DANELECTRO 1482

SILVERTONE/DANELECTRO 1482

'Poor Man's Tweed'

A Silvertone 1482 valve (tube) amp from the sixties (c1963) in good cosmetic condition and excellent working order (please see detailed photos). This 15 watt amp has a 12" speaker and was made for Sears by Danelectro. It features one microphone and two instrument inputs, as well as a brutal tremolo with controls for speed and depth (with a socket for the footswitch - not included). It is in excellent condition and has just been serviced and fitted with a 3-core earthed mains cable for safety. The main valves are original RCA or Silvertone-branded made in the USA (by RCA).

This vintage amplifier is an original USA 110v model and will require a step-down transformer to operate at 240v (we can supply good quality transformers if required).

These amps are renowned as being the ā€œpoor man's Fender tweed deluxeā€, and this one does not disappoint - has a rich thick vintage tone that breaks up nicely when pushed - works well with pedals and makes a fantastic harp amp. The Tremolo is pretty unique and a joy to play with. These amps were made by Danelectro for the Sears catalogue and are what many aspiring US musicians cut their teeth on: this is the sound of US garage rock and much more besides - think Jack White, Black Keys - these are stunning little amps. Chuck it in your pick-up and away you go...
