Schaller Rotor Sound

Schaller Rotor Sound

Rare Schaller Rotor Sound for sale in very good cosmetic condition and excellent working order.

This mono unit features controls for Intensity (dry/wet mix) and Speed.

Dating from the mid-late sixties, this has an unusual circuit design using 18 inductors and has a unique sound. It works superbly - unless you really want a realistic Leslie effect (in which case you should buy a Dynacord CLS-222 or Neo Ventilator). I love what it does to beats especially, but it will add movement and interest to any source and makes a great mix send effect. I've heard that Kraftwerk used them, but can't recall the source - I would expect these would have been pressed into service on the Krautrock scene as Leslie emulators weren't overly common back then.

We have two of these in our studio - we like them that much...

If you turn the Intensity knob fully clockwise you get a wet-only setting - the resulting signal seems quieter than it should be, but this is completely normal.

It has minor signs of age/wear but is in good condition overall.
